Academic biography

After graduating from the University of Cologne with an M. A. in Romance Philology, Medieval and Modern History, and Papyrology, Epigraphy and Numismatics, I was a research assistant at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen from 2013 to 2022, firstly in the DFG-funded project on the first critical edition of the Kitāb at-Talkhīṣ by Marwān ibn Ǧanāḥ with English translation, commentary and analysis of the Ibero-Romance lexicon (DFG-220599940) under the direction of Prof. Dr. Gerrit Bos and Prof. Dr. Guido Mensching. Additionally, I also was part of the DFG-project on Old Occitan medico-botanical terminology (DFG-201478696). From these projects arose the idea for my PhD project "Die Glossen in der arabischen Dioskurides-Übersetzung des Ms. Paris, BnF, arabe 2849. Teiledition und Analyse romanischer und lateinischer Elemente" ("The glosses of the Arabic Dioscorides translation of Ms. Paris, BnF, Arabic 2849. Partial edition and analysis of Romance and Latin elements", ediss), which I completed in 2020 in Ibero-Romance Linguistics at the Georg-August-University (summa cum laude). After my PhD, I continued to work as a research assistant at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen and for a time as the coordinator of the Master's program "Kulturen und Sprachen des mediterranen Raums" ("Cultures and Languages of the Mediterranean Region"). Since October 2022 I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Osnabrück and do research on linguistic markers for empathy in Spanish and French.
